About Our Business

We are a small, brand-new ceramics business currently based in the North East of the England. This has been an idea of mine for a while, and I am finally trying to make it a reality.

Tokamini came about after a long period of winter blues, when many of us tend to contemplate our goals and lives. In my case, to be candid, something was missing. Something into which I could pour all my creativity, blood, love, and tears. Something I would care deeply about. What I wanted to leave behind felt best expressed as a small ceramics business that, after much thought, I finally decided to name Tokamini.

Tokamini (tó-kameení), or “το καμίνι” in Greek, means the kiln, but not only the kiln. It is the place that keeps you warm, the place you cook in, for larger kilns the place where you fire your work, the place where bricks are made. It encompasses both domestic and industrial life, something that personally resonates with me and can be seen within the art of clay. From beautiful culinary forms to large industrial pieces, the art of ceramics and clay is never-ending, and hopefully that is reflected in our work and products.

For those of you who support us, whether by purchasing or simply coming along for the ride, we thank you deeply. There is nothing more beautiful than doing something you love and making a living from it. As with any artist, we are eternally grateful.
